Stem Cell Transplant

This is Jonathan. Today is a big day.

It is time for the stem cell transplant. We should begin in less than an hour. So, please pray that everything goes well and that her blood counts bounce back quickly. Also, the chemo is causing some difficult side effects, so please pray that they are minimal, and that her recovery is swift and complete. Finally, please continue to pray that this is the last step in this story. We are ready to get back to our new life, with a completely different view of priorities and the value of a day.

Please enjoy this video that our church made for April. Oceans has been one of our favorite songs through this time, and the FCC band was amazingly kind to record this for us in the studio.

  1. Hi, April,
We have been reading your blog all along and just want you to know what a tremendous inspiration you and your family have been to us during this journey. We especially love the one about your visit by an angel. Isn’t that just how our amazing God works – sending us just what we need in His perfect timing – always. We are thankful that He gave you the courage and desire to share this incredible experience with us. What a blessing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at Central Baptist in Crossville, TN. We send our love and prayer support to you and your precious family.
    In His Name,
Darlene & Randy Winningham (your parents’ neighbors SS class members)

  2. BE BRAVE ! You are going thru the worst right now, hang on, feel Jesus’ arms around you little one. We are praying, praying praying.

  3. April and Jonathan,
You are in my prayers. Thank you for posting the angel story. It was beautiful. God knows exactly what we need. See you soon!

  4. April, Pattye Barnes, a friend of your mother, told me about you and your blog. Once I found it, I read every word you have written. What an amazing testimony of a woman of deep faith! I have walked a similar journey, but mine was leukemia. I relapsed about a year after my initial diagnosis and was referred to Vanderbikt for a clinical trial, with the ultimate goal being a stem cell transplant. I ended up spending about 2 months on 11N before they moved to the “luxury suites” in the Critical Care Tower, so I know Dr. Reddy and probably most of the docs you saw there. I am so thankful you were able to go to MD Anderson, although Vanderbilt was great for me. Praying for you and your family.

    1. Just returned from Michigan and saw the news. Your prayer Angels in Mich all wanted to know of your progress. They pray daily for your recovery. As we do here in Atlanta. Always in our thoughts.

Love to all, Millers & O’ Tooles

  5. Praying for all the areas listed… just now. I pray the perfect peace of Jesus over all the family, and am picturing His mighty hands holding you up, April, as He breathes new life into all the affected areas of your body that need His healing . You are so deeply loved.

  6. We love you and continue to lift you up. May God hold you both in the palm of His hand and keep you peaceful and secure through this new phase. And thanks for sharing the angel’s visit…… April, you are amazing and one of the strongest women I know. I love you.

  7. Praying for you all. May our Lord continue to be with you and strengthen you. We can’t wait to see you come home as you are anxiously awaiting as well. I just read a previous post about your angel and that was awesome to read. Thank you for sharing how good God is and how he reached out to you. God Bless.

  8. Thank you for the update Jonathan. We continue to hold you all up in prayer and are expecting more than we can ask or imagine. Our God is faithful.
    Prayerfully yours,
    Angie
